Though the wine's roots run deep in the region's history and the blend is based on Tuscany's most representative grape, Sangiovese (60%), 385 is given a more "modern" cut with the addition of Merlot (20%), Ciliegiolo (10%) and Syrah (10%).

Incredible aromas of white truffle, meat, wet earth, lightly burnt orange peel and pure fruit. Medium-bodied and very compact, with a block of silky tannins that run through the palate and then come out at the end with a gorgeous texture. It’s very drinkable now, but will age wonderfully.

In the Northeast hills of Romangia Sardinia comes this fragrant Cannonau aka Grenache. Here it expresses the shallow soils with aromatic red fruits. Blood plum, Morello cherries and pomegranate. A hint of blackberry and vanilla pod with a backdrop of nutmeg, ground ginger and dried paperbark. Tannins are fine grained and dusty and there is a lasting note of autumn leaves and brown mushrooms.

It does not get much better than this!
