The bouquet is lifted with aromas of rose petal, dried cherry, plum and spice, layered with hints of leather, tobacco and truffle. On the palate it is powerful yet refined, with firm tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish.
Made from a selection of grapes from 45-year-old vines across five different Crus from the Castiglione (30%percent) and Serralunga (70%) communes. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak "botti" / barrels, so there is very little oak influence.
