| Michel Ampeau is a rarity in Burgundy, only releasing wines from his incredible stock of back vintages when fully mature. One of the best Beaune 1er Crus from a great vintage. This is remarkably fresh with a beautiful, perfumed nose of forest fruits, overlaid with hints of bacon and spice. Lovely velvety texture, and such a vibrant core of fruit still present. |
| | The grapes are grouped together with parcels in the Cote de Nuits villages, Pommard, Volnay, Beaune and Marsanney. The wine is aged for 15 months in 500 litre oak casks. The wine is lovely with vibrant notes of red cherry and raspberry, complemented by savoury, meaty notes from the time in bottle. Superbly fresh and elegant with impressive structure and subtle tannins. |
| | Vibrant and racy, a Bourgogne with cut and thrust. Delicious pure, crunchy forest berry and plum fruit, notes of red cherry in the background. Succulent and juicy. From south-facing sites in the Pommard and Savigny communes. Aged for months in 20% new oak barrels. |

Domaine Fourrey's Bourgogne Pinot Noir comes from a fifteen years old parcel. It is a supple and light wine, easy to drink.
On the nose, fresh flavours of blackcurrant, redcurrant
|
| | A more elegant though markedly restrained nose features cool and pure aromas of dried flowers, high-toned red and blue pinot fruit and lovely spice nuances. The rich, refined and equally pure middle weight flavors are supple yet precise before culminating in a mineral-driven, firm, dusty and long finish where the supporting tannins are notably fine-grained. |
| | Exquisitely pretty Marsannay. Not particularly complex, but that is not the point of this wine, it’s all about pure, unadulterated pleasure. An open, generous array of fruit flavours of damsons and cherries with a floral violet perfume. Soft, generous, and velvety. 30% whole bunch fermentation. |

This parcel of village appellation touches directly the Grand Cru "Griottes-Chambertin”, with vines facing directly east.
Aromas of thyme, saffron, turmeric with undertones of dark chocolate
Lots of volume in the mouth, this wine is rich generous. Beautiful concentration and nice long finish.

| | There is more whole bunch (70%) in the 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Champonnets, the highest used by the domaine in this growing season. Now this has a very mineral-driven bouquet, terse and linear at first, though the fruit soon comes to the surface—blackberries, briary and a hint of cassis. This is very seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, weight and persistence. |
| | Lovely mixture of red and black fruits, rich and generous on the palate with silky tannins. |

This 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges comes from 2 hectares of vines in this famous Côte de Nuits appellation farmed organically and aged for 14 months in oak barrels, 40% new. Rich and robust with deep, dark and red fruit aromas, evolved spice and dry earthy notes leading onto a medium-bodied, silky smooth and structured palate. Fine tannins and a long, lingering finish round off this delicious, nicely mature red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits.
Based in Nuits Saint Georges, the Ambroise family estate dates back to the 18th century.and farming organically since 2013. |
| | Deeply coloured, ripe Nuits, flamboyant flavours of cherry liqueur and griotte, touches of smouldering mulberry and mulled spices, finishing on brighter, more vivid flavours of bitter sweet cherries, juicy and sumptuous. |

A standout Burgundy in the Jadot range, this comes from the steep En Caradeux vineyard. Ripe yet fresh-tasting and a little fleshier than most Pernands.
It releases very fruity aromas of small blackberries. It lingers in the mouth with tannins presenting a certain softness.
|
| | Aromas of red and dark fruits , blend on the palate with a little spicy oak . A long lingering smooth after taste .

The "En Chevret" parcel of vines is located below the main road, just under the "Caillerets" parcel at the border of the village of Meursault.
The Volnay 1er Cru "En Chevret" 2015 reveals an intense nose of red fruits, undergrowth and liquorice aromas. In the mouth it is round and elegant with mellow tannins.

Located on the Pommard side of the village, Les Angles is a warm site which is always picked first to ensure the grapes do not become over ripe.
WINESPECTATOR / JAMES SUCKLING (92)
The cool essence of red cherry, currant, floral and discreet wood nuances leads to detailed, punchy and precise medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky texture, all wrapped in a sappy and impressively long finale where a hint of cherry pit emerges. Good stuff. |
